To be emancipated you will need the permission of the court. A parent does not have the authority to emancipate a minor. Emancipation includes the authority to sign contracts, get medical help without parental consent, live on your own, and generally be treated legally as an adult. It is extremely difficult to get a court to grant this and it can also be very scary to be granted this. You are going to be treated as an adult for all purposes including financial. You will be on your own without any financial support including from your parents. They will not be required to pay support in any way.

Think twice before starting something you might not be ready to complete. This is a very drastic step.
