Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York
money ''gift'' from a family member
A family member gave me money in 1993. She gave me cash at the time (I say it was $4500, she is saying it was $7500). Now that she is in a bad place financially, she is demanding that it is a loan and that she is going to take me to court. No agreement was ever signed and it was a gift 14 years ago!! Will the court make me pay?
