Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Settlement

If a settlement was done in court under oath before a judge, and no document was signed for the settlement, is that a binding settlement? However, if one party decides to back out of the settlement because she felt pressured to settle, would that party be able to back out of the settlement?

Re: Settlement

You have to convince a judge that you were legitimately pressured. It doesn't have to be a shotgun at the back, but if the court wants a settlement you will probably be held to it.
