Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New York

Walmart - stop and check !

Hello,

I have a personal issue. Would you please elaborate if there is any such law as that when Walmart employees stop and check the receipt and the bags of the shopper at the time he walks out.

I find this practice very embarrassing. Because they do not do it to every body. They only do this to those who supposedly look suspicious to them as if that person is walking away with merchadises without paying.

What can I do as a customer since I don't like this practice at all, as I find it very discriminatory ?

And please tell me if it is something that any state LAW allows Walmart to do it.

And what if I refuse to show them the receipt - what are my rights as a customer ?

Your advise would be very much appreciated.

Thank you

sincerely

They have a legal right to briefly inspect in this manner. Sorry.
