Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

Full time VS. Part Time

My company is cutting hours due to the ecomomy. Now, my manager has maintained our part timers hours, and cut the full timers. I had hear that in such a situation like this, there is a law requiring that PT's be cut or fired first, before docking affected Full timers. Please send any inof you have on this, as this my waht i need to get CRUCIAL hours back. I appreciate it so much
