Legal Question in Product Liability in New York

Expensive boat repair

I purchased spark plugs for my boat specificly at a Marine Dealer Certified to sell this product in late June. Long story short the boat has run horrible since I installed them, I did notice the plugs had a longer ''reach'' but I bought from an ''EXPERT''. Fianlly the boat developed another problem and I brrought it to my regular boat mechanic. He advised me that the plug were the wrong product and may have to pull the two heads etc all due to the wrong product being sold to me. Does the seller bear any liabity?

Re: Expensive boat repair

This is not a product liability matter but a breach of contract & negligence. If you relied on the dealer and he knew it and the reason for your purchase you may be able to seek damages if the installation of the improper plugs caused the damage. You will need an expert mechanic to prove your case.
