Legal Question in Product Liability in New York

Toxic Cigarette

I purchased a pack of marlboro lights. I lit the cig took a drag and tasted a horrible burning rubber taste. i looked at the coal of the cig and there was a liquid boiling in the lit coal. i distinguished the cig and and clipped a little bit off the end with scissors just to discover a rubbery strip lodged into the cig. i reported it to phillip morris they said to send the cig back to them for observation. I dont know if i should send it. Im not sure what i inhaled from that cigarette. Please tell me what i should do thanks

Re: Toxic Cigarette

Basically, it sounds like something contaminated that cigarette. If nothing has happened to you as a result of the experience except the bad taste, count yourself lucky.

Were you the one who purchased and opened the pack? Was it the first cigarette in the pack? Are there any other similar ones? You might find out by applying flame to the tip WITHOUT inhaling.

If it were a food poisoning case, and nothing happened except you experienced a bad smell from eating a piece of food, the situation would be similar.

Tell your doctor. Ask him what he thinks. Maybe he can send a sample to the lab, or maybe he will suggest a blood test.

If nothing bad has happened and the tests come back clean, then you can send it to Phillip Morris, and maybe they will send you something in return. At the moment, there is nothing much to go on. If that changes, contact me again.
