Break a lease residential

I have a lease in Wappingers Falls for $2,000 per month. I need to break it due to finances. What is the law?

I also think it will be very difficult for my landlord to get another renter due to the price. What should I do?

Is the lease a written lease? If not, there may be a way out, even with there may be a way out. The written lease needs to be read.
