Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

Gate across easement

I recently bought a house in nyc with a shared driveway. There is of course an easement in place from the street line to the garages in the back. There is a steel gate spanning the houses that is a real bother to me and I don't have the need to have it there. Can I legally remove the gate if i no longer want it attached to my house.

Re: Gate across easement

be certain there is nio agreement to have it there before it comes down. By the way, if it is attached to your house, is it also attached to the other house?

Good Luck
