Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

House was stolen

Hi. I was divorced in 98, one child, lives with his dad, in a house that was bought for me. I found out that he signed my name off the deed with his attorney there, had it notorized and admitted to me that he did that. I don't understand how someone can just do that. I owned 65% of my house and now I can't legally even step on the property. My ex should be in trouble but every attorney wants tons of money to handle this, is there anyway I can do this on my own and get my house back and his suffer his consequences.

Re: House was stolen

Can you try and do this yourself? Certainly. Are you likely to succeed? I cannot offer a guess and I do not have enough facts. If you are allegeing some form of fraud, you may need expert testimony.

There is a good firm in Morristown that I recommend: Schenck, Price, Smith & King. They have strong real estate and divorce sections.
