Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

My mother left me her house which was only deeded to her. She was the major breadwinner in her marriage to my stepfather. She did include a clause about lifetime tenancy for her husband but this was done when we all got along. Since her death, her husband has been VERY nasty to my family and has made some very unflattering comments about my Mom. Is there a way I can decline or cancel being the heir to the house? Can it be signed over to him and if so could I sue the estate or put a lien on the house. My mother's final wishes were that her greedy stepchildren not get their hands on this house. Please let me know. Thanks.
