Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

Liberal Visitation Rights, What does that mean?

I have liberal visitation with my kids whom now have moved once again with my ex. What legal rights do I have to see them and how often and is there anything I can do legally to him if he refuses to let me. I do pay child support for my children also. He also lied on the child support order about a few things which in turn I have proof of. I just dont know what to do anymore. I didnt find out about the child support hearing until after the hearing, so therefore I havent got to tell my side of the story to the judge or anyone. HELP!!!!

Re: Liberal Visitation Rights, What does that mean?

There is no set definition of "liberal visitation" rights. It generally means that you can see them quite a lot-usually after giving notice to your X of your intentions. If your X refuses to allow you "liberal visitation" you can go to court again and ask the court to hold him in contempt. You also have the right to go back to court in NC and modify child support. This can be tricky, on-going, and expensive. I may have an alternative for you to obtain the legal advice you may need on this issue on an ongoing basis as well as legal advice for any other future legal issues that will arise throughout your failies life. Either way, I wish you good luck.
