Legal Question in Civil Litigation in North Carolina

I was in a car accident while traveling in Charlotte, North Carolina last week. I live in Massachusetts. I was just a passenger. I had maybe a mild concussion, and a sore neck, but am completely fine now and am not seeking legal representation regarding the accident.

No less than 5 days after the accident - I have 15 different law offices sending me mail advertisements to my home address. It's clear to me that the EMT's are the ones that gave out my personal information. Is this legal for them to hand out people's names and addresses??? I think it's a violation of privacy.

That is not how they got it - they got it from the accident report. There are firms that specialize in direct mail marketing and lawyers hire them to send letters to people that received tickets or were involved in an accident.
