Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio

I have a friend who is threaten to take me to small claims court. She contends that i owe her for credit card charged for cards she got for me. She stated that she has contacted an attorney and this attorney has a list of all charges made on the card. I did make some payments on the charges but have not made any in the last two years. She has, I believe paid the cards off. There is no written agreement and no verbal agreement. Does she have a case?

There must have been some kind of agreement -- unless the credit card was a gift, which would be a pretty unusual arrangement. I would suggest negotiating a payment plan with which you are comfortable (but try to avoid paying your friend's attorney fees). If you do not settle the matter, you risk an unfavorable judgment, followed by having your wages or your bank accounts garnished to satisfy the judgment. Good luck!
