Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Dissolution of marriage - debt

My husband and I are in beginning stages of a dissolutionment. His car loan is in both of our names, but he has been making the payments for 3 years. Is it possible to get my name off the loan, or will I still be responsible? Also, we refinanced our home last year in his name only, am I still financially responsible? Not sure if it matters, but I moved out of the home 6 months ago.

Re: Dissolution of marriage - debt

You probably will remain jointly responsible for the car loan and he will remain jointly responsible for the house loan. Divorce or dissolution does not relieve an individual from a loan obligation.
