Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

subpoena

How do I compile a subpoena and get it served? Is there a general form I can fill out and then file it with the Clerk Of Courts or how do I accomplish this. This is pertaining to a child custody case where I want to subpoena a police officer sent to my ex's house because I had visitation with my child and could not reach him to return the child after visitation and he was found highly intoxicated

Re: subpoena

If you are involved in a custody dispute, I truly hope that you have an attorney. If you do have an attorney, he or she should take care of the subpoena issue.

You can pick up a subpoena form at the Clerk of Court's office. It will have to be signed by the clerk before you serve it or have it served. You can fill out the form along with another form requesting that the sheriff be directed to serve the subpoena on the proper person.

You really need to have an attorney handle this for you. Custody of your child is a very important matter and you should not try to handle by yourself!

If you do not have an attorney and would like to discuss this further, feel free to give me a call. No Charge or obligation for a confidential telephone call.

Good Luck!
