Check endorsement of an insurance check that is for a partial payment only.
A friends daughter was recenlty killed in an auto accident in which she was a passenger. She recently received a check from the insurance company for medical/burial expenses. How does she endorse this check without acknowledging this is a payment in full?

If you read the check, it will probably say for payment under the medical payments coverage of the policy. If it has any language such as for payment in full or release, don't sign it. It is impossible to answer the question without more information. YOUR FRIEND NEEDS TO HAVE AN EXPERIENCED ATTORNEY REVIEW THE CASE. Most insurance companies are not going to pull a "fast one," but legal counsel is a must for a wrongful death case.
