can you sue for falling on the ice at your apartment complex, and have them pay for your medical bills for going to the ER?

You must prove that the premises owner was negligent somehow. In Ohio there is no duty to remove snow or ice (despite what you might think). The only thing a land owner has to do is NOT make the property any more dangerous than the natural accumulation of snow did. In other words unless the land owner did something to cause the ice that made you fall there is no case. Not removing snow or ice is NOT negligence. Not salting, shoveling or plowing is not megligence. If you have any questions please call me.
