My son received a ticket for street racing in Ohio (OH 4511.251). It is his first offense of any kind and it was not a race but a bad judgement call in a jackrabbit start from a traffic light. So there's no way to plead not guilty. Does he need a lawyer? We realize the seriousness of this ticket and the maximum penalties for a first degree misdeameanor (jail time and a $1000 fine). Please advise. Court date is next week.
