Death of a loved one

I am not sure of what to do regarding my brothers life insurance policy,income tax check and payroll check.

My parents are the beneficiaries, but are not sure they want to handle it. What do I need to do to take over things for them.

Regarding life insurance, you will their your parents' authorization. Usually, permission by phone is suffient. If not, the company will tell you otherwise. Regarding taxes, you can indicate yourself as their representative. Regarding payroll checks, you may need a power of attorney. Inquire of your late brother's employer for ths.
