It depends on whether they had notice of the bankruptcy filing. At the time of filing, a Notice to creditors is mailed to the address you provided and a stay order is entered to prevent creditors from taking such actions. The timing of when the filing, mailing and repossession are critical to whether they violated the stay. Otherwise there is a procedure for a creditor to go through to be relieved of the stay order and repossess the vehicle if you are behind in the payments.
