Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Oklahoma

Hello,

I am a US Army Veteran and currently took a huge income cut and can no longer pay for my truck. I tried to call the Nissan finance corporation and explain my situation to them. But they said that if I did not pay the $1,500 upfront they would keep calling my cell and work and harassing me. They told me I could voluntary repo my vehicle and it would be sold in an auction and whatever is left over would be my balance. I talked to my brother and he said that he had a loan for $8,000 and voluntary repoed his car and they sold it for only $300 and he owed the balance of the rest while also taking the bad credit report. I need some advice on how to not get screwed over like my brother did. Please help me out.

Thanks,

Shawn

I will need more information to determine what, if any, relief you are entitled to. Rather than attempting to provide advice without sufficient information, I would like to refer you to a program that provides free legal representation for currently serving members of the military and veterans like yourself. This program was recently initiated by the Oklahoma Bar Association and is called "Oklahoma Lawyers for America's Heroes". The person to call at the OBA is Susan Carey. Her phone number is (405) 416-7086. After explaining your legal problem, she will refer you to an Oklahoma attorney experienced in this area and who will provide you with free representation.
