Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
Drug dealers in our neighborhood
There is a bar on the corner of our block right across the street from our elementary school. There have been numerous incidences late at night where the police have had to be called. This morning, 8/2/00, there was an incident involving people suspected of involvement with drugs. Is there anything a neighborhood can do to try and close this establishment down?

Most District Atorney's offices, at least in the eastern part of the state have "nuisance bar" details which will assist in shutting down problem establishments near schools. Call the DA and ask for assistance.

I agree with Pat Henigan's comment, but would also speak with the school officials, and parents from the school to get support for your concers, then go to local officials to try to get them to cooperate with you in pressuring the bar to clean up it's act, or to shut it down.
Also ask for better police presence.
There IS strength in numbers. Use it.
Good luck to you.
