Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Hearing Set

My son was charged with harassment and terroristic threats. Threating his ex-girlfriend in person in front of witness's. Also, over the phone a threat to her and her parents of harm and burning the house down.

He has a hearing set for 02/11/08. Will he need a lawyer present at the hearing?

Re: Hearing Set

Yes, you should definitely get a lawyer for this. It could go on his permanent record. Feel free to give our offices a call or e-mail me directly.

Re: Hearing Set

Depending on the county, he may or may not need a lawyer. I would need a lot more information to really give you the proper advice.

However, in general there are two solid rules about your question in general.

First, you have a right to represent your self in any criminal trial. its called pro se.

Second, the old saying goes that a lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client. In other words, you don't cut your hair, nor do you give yourself stitches?
