marriage of a u.s. citizen to an english subject

if my daughther marries and english citizen her in the u.s. and then moves to england with her husband will it be legal there? what steps will they have to take once they are there?

You asked about marriage to a foreign citizen.

As long as a marriage is valid in the jurisdiction where the marriage was solemnized then the marriage is valid everywhere. (This may or may not apply to same sex marriages, I would argue yes, but this is an area of high contention.)

This does not pertain to immigration but rather only to the validity of marriage. The couple should speak with an immigration attorney to determine what needs to be done to protect the immigration status of the foreign partner in the U.S. Also, the spouse should speak with an immigration solicitor about legality of immigration to the U.K. That question has not been answered here.
