what do I need to marry an US citizen ? I am a female alien, been here more than 7 yrs, no criminal record. Entered with tourist visa and different name passport. Have my real birth c. and expired ID. Don;t want to be deported during the legal process.

if I hire a lawyer howmuch do I have to pay ?

If you entered the USA not on your passport, but on somebody else's passport/ivsa, there could be a problem. That wouldn't be a straightforward immigration process.

As long as the names on the Visa and passport can both be proven to be you; e.g. you used different nick names or sur names for some reason, than the discrepancy should be able to be reconciled through the greencard process.
