Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania

In Pennsylvania, is the owner of a motor vehicle liable for the negligence of its properly licensed driver. So if Dad lends his car to Daughter and she runs over a lawyer walking across the street, does the lawyer sue daughter only or does he sue dad as well?

The owner may be held negligent if he knowingly permits an unsafe driver to use his vehicle. The owner would not be deemed negligent simply b/c he was the owner of a vehicle used by a negligent person--the driver's negligence will not be attributed to the owner.
