Re: broken arm and signatures

You asked about notarizing a document.

Notaries are an anachronism. The main purpose of a notary is to verify the identity of the person signing a document. All a person needs to do to sign a notarized document is establish their identity and make a mark. The notary's jurat is "proof" that a signature or mark is the signature or mark of the person purported.

FYI, if a notary certifies a signature that is fraudulent, the signature can still be challenged.

Regards,

Roger
