Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Philippines
Hi, my family is currently renting an apartment in Sampaloc Manila. We've been in the said apartment for 9 years. Last Monday, we received a demand letter from a law office demanding us to pay our rent to a certain person who claims that she owns the said apartment on or before April 15, 2012. If we dont follow her demands, she's requesting us to vacate the said apartment on April 25, 2012. We forwarded the said letter to the owner of the apartment and advised us not to mind the said letter.
I'm just wondering if the said demand letter is legal since we havent receive any notice that there's a new owner of the apartment and she havent presented any documents as a proof that she's the real owner of the property. Me and my family is a bit worried that we might receive legal charges for this matter. Thanks!
