rights to a surviving son

my mother recently died. i have not had any contact with her for almost 20yrs. i have a younger brother, whom i also have not had contact with. am i intitled to any of her assests?

It all depends on whether she left a valid will. If she died without a will, you and your brother would each be entitled to half of her estate. If she left a valid will, the terms of the will would prevail.
