Civil suit

two years ago my father took some artwork on consingment, from a friend who owns an art bussiness. They decied to store the artwork in a storage spot in chicago. My father lives mississippi and his friend in georgia. I live in chicago. They said that they had alot of clients in this city and that I could make extra cash delivering art for them. few months latter they decided they where not making enough money. My father picked up the artwork and said that he was returing it to his friend.Then about a year ago I recived a notice in the mail saying that me and my father are being sued for the loss of the art. When I questioned my father about the art he said that on his way to georgia from chicago he made a stop in memphis where he owns a house. My father said that he had some things to take care of there so he stored the art in his house and returned a few days latter to find that the someone broke into the house and stole eveything. His friend decided to file a civil suit in tennesee for. My father told me that him and his friend had come to a settement outside of court. today I recived a notice in the mail saying a default judgement is being made. How can I remove my name from this suit. My father maybe resposibale but am I.

You need to get an attorney in the locale of the lawsuit. It sounds like there's already a default judgment against you, so you need to do this right away to get the judgment vacated.
