Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Married five yrs in june 2000

I will be married 5 yrs. on June 6, 2000, but our marriage is ending due to totally different moral beliefs. (she has none) I have 2 unadopted step-children, 13 and 16, a home we built (she paid $35,000 down on it 5 years ago, I have made all of the $1,500/mo. payments) She only makes about $9,000 per year, and demands I buy her a house as she sold hers when we married. There's no way I can afford to do that. Would I be required to pay her alimony, for how long, and will the court make me buy her a house? (My income is about $50,000 per year adjusted gross)

It's impossible to be certain what a judge will do in your specific case, but given the facts you have mentioned, I would not expect a court ot order you to pay alimony.... but you are not going to get the house, either. She will likely get the house, but will probably be ordered to divide some of the equity in it with you.
