Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

termination of child support

I have a 16 year old son who quit school with his mother's permission this year. He now has a 40 hour a week job making $7.00 an hour. I was wondering if my child support would end now or when he's 18. If it's when he's 18 do I need to contact child support services to have my child support stopped from coming out of my check each week.

Thank you

Re: termination of child support

An order to pay child support continues until the child turns 18 or graduates high school. A child's failure to complete high school will not be a ground to terminate child support unless the child has already attained the age of 18.
