Legal Question in Health Care Law in Tennessee

How long do I have to file a medical malpractice suit?

I went into premature labor last year and I lost my son.I was six months pregnant and I believe it was caused by medical malpractice. They were disorganized and they also mis informed me of many things concerning the pregnancy. One nurse while checking my cervix for dialation cut my cervix with her fake fingernails. When i returned the next day for a check up after the loss I discovered that the nurse that checked me was not employed there or so I was told. What do you think I should do or shouldve done?
