i am wanting to marry my boyfriend of 5 years but he is illegal.is there anyway i can marry him and he can become legal without having to leave the country

That depends on whether he originally entered the US illegally (without inspection) or he simply let his visa expire. If it's the first scenario, your marriage will unfortunately not be enough to make him legal. If it's the second scenario, you can marry him and apply to adjust his status to a permanent resident despite his expired visa.
