Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Tennessee

Denist that wont release xrays

Greetings,

I recently recieved a coupon in the mail for a local dentist office for xrays, exam, cleaning and polishing. Total price was $49.95. After paying them and using the coupon they did the exam and xrays then told me I had to have ''special cleaning'' at the sum of $1,500.00.

Since then I have found another dentist that is local and offers the same service for about $700.00 less. I asked to have my xrays transfered but they will not unless I pay an additional $150.00.

The coupon only stated that i would get a exam, xray, cleaning and polishing for $49.95. There were no and, ifs, or buts.

My question is can they do this?

Did you have the "special cleaning" done? Do you owe them any money? Did you pay the reduced price for the promotion?

Ordinarily the dentist would probably have a lien on your records until he was paid. In this case I have serious concerns that the special offer may in fact be a bait and switch. It could be a deceptive trade practice. I hope this helps. If you need more information, please contact me at 800.403.7868 or [email protected].
