Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

I had attended a trade school and was kicked out 3 weeks after school started because of a back injury that happened 1 week after school started.. was kicked out due to absences..even after getting my loan deferred and getting forebarences the school went bankrupt and shut down.. 4 years after the school shut down my taxes were taken from me 3 years in a row to pay the loan back.. was that legal?
