credit card collection
Can a collection agency force me to pay a debt after more than 7 years? I co-signed with another person for a credit card in or around 1993 or1994, and then this person disappeared. According to the agency, the last time this person sent a payment was back in 1999.

You're golden if you're in Texas. The statute of limitations on a debt is four (4) years.

Mr. Bradie is correct, but sometimes these collection agencies file suit anyway. If you get sued you need to file an answer that properly presents the affirmative defense of the statute of limitations. Do not acknowledge this debt in writing at all.
