Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

I've been asking the question about the debt collector calling me at work demanding that I make a payment while I'm talking to them on the phone. They said that because I didn't make my payment on my payday loan that it was check fraud and that if I didn't make a payment to them right then that they were sending it to the constable in my state and then I would have to go to court. Is that true or are they just try to scaare me into paying them because they have bought this debt and are trying to collect on it. I will pay this debt but I can't pay on it right at this moment. I do want to resolve this matter but don't appreciate being called at work and threated that way.

They would have to file a lawsuit to collect.Payday loan companies are some of the most aggressive and are oftentimes fast and loose with the truth. To get a constable to come to your house to look around would require they sue you and get a judgment and ultimately get a writ of attachment.
