Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

verbal contract-car repossession

What can or will happen to me if I reposses a vehicle that's in my name but someone else has always had possession & made all the payments on the car since the loan originated four years ago. I took the car key off their keychain without asking. There were a few times they paid me the car note in cash, but 90% of the payments were made by check. The relationship with this individual has gone bad, & now I want the car back. The car loan will be paid off in a year from now. I verbally agreed with no witnesses that this is their car. If I deny the verbal contract can they still prove it. Can I force them to get the car out of my name. What are my options!

Re: verbal contract-car repossession

I think you have to sue and have a court order repossession.
