Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Possession charges

My son was arrested for possession of Marijuana (16 yrs old). Taken downtown but then they decided not to keep him. Sherrif brought him back home and said he would be receiving a citation. That was OCT 8. No citation to date. Yesterday, received note on my door saying to appear in court on Dec4. No contact number, just notice to appear for my son (Harris County Juvenile court). He just got off probation Sept. 11th and spent 3 months in boot camp Oct 2006-Jan 2007). Did very well throughout year of probation. Now this! What are we facing with these new charges??? please help.

Re: Possession charges

That depends on the PO, the DA and the judge. It also depends upon the circumstances of the arrest. You should hire a lawyer to look into the circumstances of the arrest -- maybe the marijuana can be suppressed, and the case dismissed. If not, the attorney can negotiate on behalf of your son.
