Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Texas

I had a verbal agreement with someone in Texas to sublease there apartment. After several attempts to get the apartment to what I say are acceptable living arrangements, and failed, i moved out. Am I responsible for the remainder of the lease?

No.

An oral contract is GENERALLY enforceable, but the person from whom you subleased almost certainly won't sue you.

It's a stretch, but the lessor (apartment manager) COULD claim that you were a tenant at will, and that you owe them some rent ... it just won't happen. The likelihood is very close to zero.
