Legal Question in DUI Law in Texas

Drunk driving and lawsuit

My husband drinks and drives. I am scared that he will get into a big accident or kill somebody on the road. In the case of a lawsuit, how is our joint/individual property affected? We have a house, cars, joint/individual savings, and individual retirement accounts.

First, if he is to hurt someone any plaintiff's attorney is going to go after your automobile policy first. They could go after other assets if the insurance policy doesn't cover the entire judgment.
