Legal Question in DUI Law in Texas

Penalty of bond forfeiture on felony DWI 25 years ago

I wouldlike to know what penalty would a person face for bond forfeiture on a first time felony DWI that occured in 1976. Is there a "statute" of limitations on this? This person left the state and is retired now. What consequences would he face if he returned to the state of Texas?

There is no statute of limitations applicable to one who has fled the jurisdiction to avoid the legal process - no statute which applies to bench warrants.

The consequences in TX would be all fines/penalities attached to the original offense, plus additional charges for fleeing in the first place, plus the bench warrant, etc.

Probably pretty dire consequences. Retirement is not a defense to the actions you describe.
