Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I cannot afford a lawyer

the father of my 11 weeks old son, after singing the birth certificate, is suing me for the custody, expenses, etc of the child. I tryed to find help with '' West Texas Legal services'' but because of their amount of work they cannot help me. I was wandering what can happend if I cannot have a lawyer. I also would like to know if there is any other way to have the legal service of a lawyer and be able to pay in monthly payments without initial payment.

thanks for your time

Re: I cannot afford a lawyer

I would strongly suggest you try and retain the services of an attorney to assist you. There are many attorneys who will work with you on the financial arrangements of your case, although most attorneys would require an initial retainer to begin representation. My suggestion would be to keep calling around or obtain some referrals from other people you know.
