Re: child custody

You definately need to talk to an attorney to discuss your legal options.

I have no idea what he means that he can take you to jail and take custody of the child. First, he says that he won't pay child support then he wants the kid full-time ?!?!?!

You need to talk to an attorney in your county.

Or contact the TX Attorney General office and they will handle it for free. It will take awhile because they are swamped.

If he asks for DNA testing, the court will order it.

FYI: Many times a guy that does not want to pay child support will claim that he'll ask for custody just to scare the mother. If he has no contact with the child, then why would he want custody. If you have any witnesses that heard him say that he would do it, that would be very powerful in front of the judge.

Get some good legal advice so you know your legal rights! It will give you some peace of mind.

Happy New Year!
