Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Custody

I would like to file for custody of my 15 year old daughter. She is writing a letter to the judge and wants to sign an affidafit saying she wants to live with me. My 18 year old daughter moved out the day after she turned 18. I have no money for another attorney. Can I get theese forms and file for custody myself? Where can I get these forms? I have to get her out of that house!! Please help me!

Re: Custody

You can go to any law library and see if they have a copy of the Texas Family Code and a copy of the Texas Family Law Practice Manuals. These 2 things should help you.

However, I always urge someone to hire an attorney so that the documents are done properly.

Since you say that you have no money to hire an attorney, you can certainly try to handle the matter yourself.

Good luck!
