Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Custody Modification

I am a father of a 13 year old daughter and have had a fairly good relationship with the mother. My daughter has decided she wants to spend some of her last school years with me in a way better school district. the mother had said that if thats what she wants then thats fine but was not happy about it. I have always left that decision up to her and had never pushed it. Her mother has a history of anger, yelling and even being mildly physical as far as slpping her. She has been married 4 times and only 1 lasted more than 5 months except our's. And the last couple have been violent relationships and police had been called. For the 4 years of her life i had her for about 70% of the time then called me one day and said she was moving to North Carolina for she had met someone there and i did fight her but nothing in the papers said she had to stay. Then found out they lived for a year with his parents. But the courts ruled she had to bring her to my doorstep every 9 weeks for 2 weeks and then she had to come and pick her back up.I am stable and have a 3 bedroom house in a nice subdivision she is the world to me and i hate having to tell her she cant be with me. Do i have a chance in court?

Re: Custody Modification

Yes you do. Get a lawyer to file a modification to establish yourself as the primary conservator, and to establish some healthy boundaries for possession and access for mom. Good luck.
