Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

what does it mean when a dismissal for want of prosecution is set for 9/2/10 but my case is not set for court to modify orders until 7/22/10 why would they schedule that prior to any proceedings.. my answer has been filed his was not and i placed a counter petition ag's office was original petitioner in this modification

Courts routinely set matters for DWOP to keep the docket from clogging up with stale cases. It forces litigants to act on the case, or risk getting it dismissed. The court will not set a hearing until someone asks for one. To get a hearing, file your motion.
