if my ex just filed unemployment in the state of texas will this lower my child support

Not automatically. If he files for a downward modification of support, it might lower your child support. There are other factors to consider - does he have other sources of income? is he intentionally unemployed? Until he files the petition, and you are served, your support remains the same. If you choose to negotiate a modification, be sure that an attorney reviews any agreement, so that you and your children are protected.
